Lashley Land and Recreational Brokers has a tremendous resource in one of our Associate Agents, Steve Farris. Artistic from birth, Mr. Farris grew up along the Platte and Missouri Rivers in Eastern Nebraska, where he painted pictures of ducks and nurtured an insatiable appetite for wildlife and hunting, before moving to California to become a bona-fide rock star. Steve was one of the founding members of Mr. Mister, which had #1 hits in the late 80s with “Broken Wings” and “Kyrie”. Steve has been nominated for two Grammy awards, and has recorded and/or played guitar with over 150 artists including KISS, Rod Stewart, Whitesnake, Dolly Parton, Eddie Money, Madonna, Tori Amos, and Graham Nash. But these days Steve uses his artistic prowess as one of the premier waterfowl/hunting property developers, trading the neck of a guitar for the long arm of an excavator. He is owner/operator of multiple hunting clubs and properties that he has transformed from diamonds in the rough to virtual jewel show places. He has also consulted, designed, and developed improvements on other properties of several states including being brought to Oregon by the US Fish & Wildlife Service to design and implement a 26-acre wetland restoration in the Upper Klamath Valley. He has served 3 two-year terms on Ducks Unlimited’s National Conservation Programs Committee, one of which as Assistant Chair of Habitat and Science. And he has appeared as Host and Guest on various TV hunting shows such as Dangerous Game, Ruger’s Outdoor Adventures, World of Beretta, Ram Outdoorsman, Winchester Legends, Browning Expeditions, and Bird Hunter’s Journal. Steve currently orchestrates his time between finely tuning his hunting lands, running his hunting clubs, and still occasionally beating a six string Fender or Gibson into submission. Through Farris Hunting Development LLC, Steve can be hireable, occasionally taking on certain projects to design and improve properties for their maximized recreational use.
